The Stupidity of the Texas GOP.
One of the platforms of the Republican Party in Texas is a referendum on secession. This just goes to show that the more conservative you are, the less you think things through and consider the outcomes. I'm sure there are idiotic Texans out there that feel that an independent Texas would be some sort of white supremacist nirvana where all white supremacist dreams would come true. The reality could actually be catastrophic - to the citizens of Texas. I'm sure the Texas GOP imagines a very peaceful and orderly transfer of power, just like in 1861. One of the first effects would be the instant unemployment of 140,000+ federal employees and 26,000 postal employees, and the withdrawal of U.S military personnel, all of whom contribute greatly to the economy.
