"Starship Invasions"

Tonight's episode of "Poor Cinema": Starship Invasions, (Hal Roach Studios, 1977).
I watched this film at the age of 16, probably at the old Texas Theater in downtown San Antonio. I remember this to be an exciting and moving movie, with some of the scenes and dialog burned into my memory, despite having only watching it once.
Last week, I was looking for classic sci-fi movies to watch on ROKU and I found that you can watch it for free on YouTube. Tonight, I decided to watch it. What a let down.
Despite star actors like Robert Vaughn and Christopher Lee, the film falls short. Everyone but the humans are telepaths and as such, never speak vocally or show any sort of emotion. Cool for sci-fi, boring for cinema. Filmed around the same time as STAR WARS, the special effects were somewhat subpar. The set design, while seemingly inspired by the cool sets of SPACE: 1999, were sparce and uninspiring.
The quality of the film was also below par. It looks like it was film converted to videotape, then to digital format.
Cool story, but bad presentation. I give it 2½ supernovas out of 5.
